The Data Analyst and Programmer stream of the Automation & Digital Agriculture Specialist Program focuses on analyzing and utilizing data to drive insights and innovation in the agricultural sector. Professionals in the Industrial, Technical, and Professional stream of the Automation & Digital Agriculture Specialist program will be able to identify and leverage technology by applying it to agricultural processes and systems. They’ll work with advanced machinery, precision agriculture tools, automation technologies, and other cutting-edge solutions to enhance productivity, efficiency, and sustainability in farming operations.
The Agribusiness and Sales stream of the Automation & Digital Agriculture Specialist Program focuses on the business and management aspects of the agricultural industry. Professionals in this stream learn how to navigate the intersection of agriculture and business operations.
“The program brings together employers with participants so they can find solutions that right now are still not being solved properly in the industry. We work really hard on giving participants all the skills they need to not just connect with industry hiring managers, but also learn how to build networks”, said Ednali Fertuck-Zehavi, the Automation and Digital Agriculture Specialist Program Manager at Palette Skills.

So we sat down one of the program’s alumni to get at the very human side of the story.
If you’re an early adopter, there is probably no better time to think about a career in Canada’s agtech revolution. In response to many global and local pressures—including labour shortages, climate change, and even the rise of integrated value chains—the conventional approach to agriculture that dominated Canadian farms for decades is getting an upgrade, with a new focus on technology, sustainability, and precision.
Indigenous communities stand to benefit from the coming digital agricultural revolution because these communities have everything in place to lead this same revolution. With more and more young and skilled citizens ready to embrace technology and entrepreneurship, the task will be to make sure that leaders in agriculture understand the need to work closely with Indigenous communities and concerns.
