information about the program
This upskilling program, led by the CISOs of four major energy sector employers in Canada, addresses the critical shortage of cybersecurity professionals affecting the country’s energy security. Focused on small, medium, and large enterprises in the energy supply chain, the program aims to enhance their cybersecurity capabilities, recognizing the higher risk they face due to talent competition and prioritization of IT skills in hiring. Partnering with TALENT, the 16-week cohort-based program targets IT professionals with a minimum of three years of experience who are looking to make the jump into cybersecurity roles in the energy supply chain.
Prioritizing equity-deserving individuals and those at risk of job displacement due to energy transition, the program aims to provide meaningful employment within the sector. This intentional approach focuses on achievable upskilling within the 16-week timeframe (12 weeks of learning with 2 weeks of activities prior and afterward), ensuring employers have confidence in the skills and competency of program graduates, thereby securing the energy supply for all Canadians.
