Toronto, ON. May 8, 2023 – Today, Palette Skills is excited to announce that its highly successful Programme de spécialisation en automatisation et agriculture numérique is officially expanding to Alberta.
The Automation & Digital Agriculture Specialist Program recently completed its second offering after launching last year in Saskatchewan. To meet the needs of the sector, Palette Skills leveraged its successful upskilling model and consulted industry partners, who helped determine which skills were highly sought-after in the industry and develop solutions to meet these needs. Those partners included the Saskatchewan Conservation and Development Association, the University of Saskatchewan, Maven Water and Environment, Seed Source, and TIMAC AGRO.
This accelerated 8-week hybrid program is designed to get participants to the forefront of automation and digitization technologies in agricultural production and processing. The program’s goal is to get highly skilled workers ready to hit the ground by giving them the tools they need to identify, manage, and implement technological solutions across the agri-food value chain in the Prairies.
“We could not be more thrilled to be expanding the Automation & Digital Agriculture Specialist Program to Alberta, with our first cohort launching June 12, 2023,” said Palette Skills CEO Rhonda Barnet. “We have enjoyed great success in Saskatchewan because we understand that employers need talent with the right foundational skills and who possess a strong drive and desire to build careers in the agri-food industry. Our program is a vital link between talented individuals seeking a career in agri-tech and the leading businesses in the Prairies.”
Upskilled workers can expect to develop careers in technology and business, agriculture automation, precision agriculture, and production management. The program is highly suitable for people who come from Indigenous communities, newcomers to Canada, recent postgraduates, and experienced professionals looking to transition to the growing and exciting agri-food sector.
Developed together with top agri-tech enterprises and academic partners, our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of the industry and equip graduates with the latest automation and digitization technologies. Our program offers practical experience, business and soft skills training, and a connection to the most innovative agri-tech businesses and start-ups in the region.
