Deadline: ASAP, until positions are filled
Palette is a national not-for-profit that trains Canadians for careers in growing industries. Since our launch just over two years ago, we have created two skilling programs: SalesCamp and the Accelerated Cyber Security Training Program. We are now looking to expand into Automation and Digital Agriculture. While these sectors are different from each other, our approach is the same: to train and connect individuals with the foundational skills to employers who are struggling to find in-demand talent. We are extremely proud that our approach has resulted in 96% of graduates from our flagship SalesCamp program receiving a job offer upon program completion.
About the Program
Palette Inc. is partnering with the University of Saskatchewan to launch an Automation and Digital Agriculture Specialist program. The program upskills highly motivated workers looking to transition into the Agri-Food sector in technology and business roles to develop careers in farm robotics, agriculture automation, precision agriculture and production management. It is highly suitable for people who come from Aboriginal communities, newcomers to Canada, recent postgraduates, and experienced professionals looking to transition sectors.
This accelerated 8-week program addresses the automation and digitization technologies in agriculture production and processing facilities. It generates candidates specialized in identifying, managing and implementing technologies to solve challenges across the Agri-Food value chain. This program is dedicated to providing the sector’s highest potential firms with the diverse and well-trained talent they need to scale and grow, and for that, we built this program with the employers and for the employers.
The program provides project-based learning in emerging technologies in Agri-Food such as GIS, IoT, Unmanned Ariel Vehicles, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Sensors and Big Data. Participants learn and apply business and soft skills throughout the program, such as project management, business development, teamwork and collaborations, problem-solving, and job readiness. Working with employer partners to place participants in key roles, the program fills an essential need in the digital agriculture industry for skilled talent.
