We are currently a team of nine, growing soon to a team of 15 with potentially much more growth on the horizon. This is why we are looking for an organized, results-driven, process-oriented Human Resources Lead. Under the overall direction of the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for leading recruitment, developing HR policies and procedures, implementing best practices related to employee experience, compensation & rewards, regulatory compliance and so forth. We are at the stage in our organization where we have some of these policies and practices in place, but we are looking to formalize and further enhance these to support our growing team.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborates with the Palette leadership team to develop and implement the organization’s plan for HR including recruitment, employee experience and retention

  • Consistently and continuously analyzes, evaluates, and reforms organizational HR strategies, policies, and procedures, in consultation with Palette’s leadership team

  • Leads Palette’s recruitment efforts including  designing the hiring process, developing job descriptions alongside hiring managers, coordinating and conducting interviews, and drafting offers of employment

  • Administers and supports the full suite of Palette’s human resources programs including, but not limited to, onboarding, performance and talent management, professional growth and workplace culture, compensation, benefits, leaves, employee communications, disputes, and disciplinary matters

  • Develops and oversees the annual performance review process

  • Creates and monitors professional development programs for the team

  • Recommends and implements team-building activities and opportunities that increase morale and productivity of the team

  • Acts as the first-point-of-contact on any employee concerns including, but not limited to issues related to promotion, professional growth, physical or mental health issues, issues of harassment or workplace safety, work-life balance, and personal issues

  • Ensures smooth lines of communications between managers and their direct reports; coaches managers on how best to build a dynamic, well-functioning, and impactful team

  • Stays at the forefront of human resources best practices and ensures Palette is a leader in supporting Its team and ensuring a healthy work environment

  • Ensures Palette complies with all governmental regulations pertaining to labour and human capital; revises policies and procedures to account for any changes in such regulations

  • As appropriate, supervises the Palette human resources team

  • Provide subject matter expertise on workforce development best practices to our programs team, as needed

  • Other duties may be assigned from time to time.

  • Have some experience with supervisory and leadership roles

  • Are flexible, capable of adjusting your work plan to account for the changing needs of Palette and its team

  • Show proficiency or ability to learn HRIS or related talent management systems

Reporting Structure

You will report directly to the Director of Operations, Aysha Teja. We are ready to support you and make sure that you have everything you need to succeed – budget, resources, access, subject matter expertise etc.

Compensation

Candidates can expect a highly competitive base salary, annual bonus and benefits. The specific compensation package will depend on the experience level of the candidate.
